2010 Oscar Fashion: Gabourey Sidibe
Posted on March 8, 2010
Gabourey Sidibe, who was nominated for Best Actress for her performance in Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire, looked fabulous in a custom made, draped royal blue Marchesa gown which featured embroidered crystal embellishments. Gaby accessorized her look with a diamond bracelet and ring by Lorraine Schwartz. Gaby was hilarious during her red carpet interview with Ryan Seacrest. When Ryan asked about her dress, she told the E! camera crew to "snap to it" and get a full length shot of her. She then declared that "If fashion were porn, this dress is the money shot," which totally shocked -- and cracked up -- Ryan. She toned it down for ABC though, sticking to mild pleasantries when Kathy Ireland asked her a few questions.
And speaking of Kathy Ireland, what in the world was she doing working the pre-show? Sherri Shepherd with Jess Cagle know their stuff and did just fine (although we really missed Tim Gunn this year), but Kathy's performance was a disaster. Her interview style was so loud, jarring and generally over the top that we couldn't believe we were watching the official Oscar pre-show. Heads need to roll over that piece of stunt casting.
