Amazon Shares Video of Prime Air's First Customer Delivery

Amazon has shared a video of its first Prime Air delivery. The customer delivery took place in England where private trials have been taking place. Amazon says the delivery was fully autonomous and took 13 minutes from click to delivery.

The delivery took place on December 7. Amazon says they are currently permitted to operate only during daylight hours with low winds and good visibility. They expect to expand this in the future after they show good safety and reliability data. Being able to order anytime you wanted with a drone - even late or night or early in the morning - would make the service more popular once it is available.

The video shows the order being placed and then the drone flying out to the rural customer. The customer ordered an Amazon Fire TV and a bag of chips. The drone lands on a Prime Air target the customer has placed in his lawn. Take a look:
