Bernie Sanders Action Figure a Hit on Kickstarter

Posted on February 28, 2016

A Bernie Sanders action figure from FCTRY is a big hit on Kickstarter. The Kickstarter project has soared past its $15,000 goal. The action figure has over 3,300 backers and has nearly $100,000 pledged with over 30 days still remaining.

The action figure was sculpted by Seattle pop-artist Mike Leavitt. He also designed a Hillary Clinton action figure wearing a blue pant suit. Reuters reports that FCTRY previously sold 200,000 President Barack Obama action figures.

The company says it will donate $1 from each $20 sale to the candidate's actual campaign. FCTRY CEO Jason Feinberg told Reuters, "If you buy one of our action figures, whether it's Hillary or now Bernie, we'll donate $1 from that sale online to their actual campaign. The idea is to have a way where regular people can sort of easily participate in campaign donations through a small business."

Bernie's campaign is not going as well as his action figure. Sanders was soundly defeated by Hillary Clinton in South Carolina on Saturday. FCTRY says it has no plans to launch action figures for any of the Republican candidates.

You can find the Bernie action figure on Fctry.com. He retailers for $20. Here is the action figure video and song:
