Bill Murray Auditions to Play Peter Pan for Next Live NBC Musical Performance

NBC is so happy with the ratings success of the live musical The Sound of Music starring Carrie Underwood that it has announced that it will do the Broadway version of Peter Pan next. Peter has not been cast yet, but plenty of people want the role. Enter Bill Murray. Murray sings his heart out high above David Letterman as he auditions to be the star of the musical. He sings "I'm Flying" while hurtling back and across the stage on a wire. After a safe landing, Murray had a message for the NBC casting director: "I feel like this is my moment," Murray said. "They're thinking about re-staging Peter Pan, and I'm the guy." It's very funny, take a look:
