The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio has announces its annual awards today with the release of the 12th annual edition of their book, Oppenheim Toy Portfolio 2005. The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio was founded in 1989 by author and child development expert Joanne Oppenheim and her daughter, child development and consumer expert Stephanie Oppenheim. "Products are considered on the basis of their age and developmental appropriateness, educational value, safety, long-term play value, and the ultimate test- the fun factor. We look for both innovative and appropriate uses of new technology as well as classic formats that every child should know - even if they weren't invented yesterday, " says President and noted child development expert Joanne Oppenheim. The organization's top award, the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award is given to the most outstanding and innovative products of the year.
