Georg Jensen Unveils Jewelry Collaboration With Zaha Hadid

Posted on March 31, 2016

Georg Jensen unveiled a jewelry collaboration with architect Zaha Hadid at 2016 Baselworld. The collaboration also included a unique architectural installation for the Baselworld show. The installation served as a lounge for show visitors.

The jewelry collection was created from sterling silver and black rhodium. It is set with black diamonds. It will launch in September. The sculptural forms and complex curves in the jewelry reference Hadid's structural designs. Jensen says the collection will consist of five rings and three bangles.

Zaha Hadid says in a statement, "Working with Georg Jensen presented an opportunity to express our ideas in different scales and through different media. Our starting point was the Danish house's design links to nature. There is an inherent integrity within the organic structural logic found in nature and we often look at the coherence of natural systems when we work to create environments. Our challenge was to translate that into something that can be worn; to reinterpret the rich history and tradition of Georg Jensen's design approach into something new."

The jewelry pieces look amazing!
