Google Unveils New Version of Google Earth With 3D Views

Google has unveiled a new version of Google Earth. It is available on the web and Android devices. The upgraded service features a spinning globe. You can use the search feature and zoom in on areas you are know (such as your location on Earth) or regions you are curious about.Google Earth has a stunning 3D feature that gives depth to objects such as homes and trees. This feature looks best when you zoom in closer to the ground.
Google says, "Click the new 3D button to see any place from any angle. Swoop around the Grand Canyon and see geological layers, or check out the majestic architecture and pristine grounds of the 500-year-old Château de Chambord in the Loire Valley in France."
Google says it has curated over 20,000 locations with imagery and detailed descriptions. They also have Voyager, which is a showcase of interactive guided tours. Some of the fascinating highlighted sites include Gombe National Park, Pemba Island and the Zao Hot Spring in Yamagata, Japan. As many have noted in the comments of Google's YouTube video about the new version the first thing many people want to do is see their own home and neighborhood. Take a look:
