Hasbro's New Simon Air Memory Game is Button Free

Posted on February 18, 2016

Hasbro's Simon memory game has seen several upgrades since the original debuted at Studio 54 in 1978. In 2014 Hasbro launched Simon Swipe, which features 8 buttons and a swipe move. There is also a micro series game and swipe card games. At this year's toy fair Hasbro introduced a new Simon that has no buttons at all. It is called Simon Air.

Simon Air is a ring shaped game. It has four different colors: yellow, green, red and blue. The blue color is located on the base of the device. The player holds their hands over the flashing colors in order to play the game instead of pressing buttons like with previous Simon versions.

Mashable reports that Simon Air has three game modes including a two-player mode. The two person mode works best with players sitting across from each other. Mashable notes one downside to the game is that it would be difficult to play in a car.

The game will arrive in stores this fall. It will not be expensive with a price tag of $19.99. At this price its uniqueness could make it a hot holiday toy.
