Idina Menzel Walks the Red Carpet at 2014 Oscars
Posted on March 4, 2014
Broadway star Idina Menzel performed the Oscar Winning original song "Let it Go" at the 2014 Academy Awards. Idina walked the red carpet wearing a strapless, forest green gown by Vera Wang that featured a fitted bodice, dramatic draping and a train. Idina accessorized her red carpet look with a gorgeous, custom made diamond collar necklace and diamond earrings by Chimento. She wore her hair long, in a side part. Idina told Ryan Seacrest how exciting it was to be performing at the Oscars.
She said she was so happy when they showed her the "Idina Menzel Warm Up Room" back stage. Unfortunately, John Travolta completely mangled her name when he introduced her. He called her "Adele Dazeem." Travolta wasn't the only presenter having trouble with the teleprompter that night, but his was the worst gaffe by far. The Adele Dazeem name is going to stick around, but it will make Idina a bigger household name as a result.
E! reports that Idina wasn't mad at Travolta. She reportedly laughed it off and gave him a hug backstage after her performance. She was so excited about being at the Oscars that nothing fazed her. She tweeted the next day that it was a dream come true.
