Lupita Nyong'o Walks the Red Carpet at 2014 Oscars

Lupita Nyong'o had a perfect night at the Oscars. Lupita won Best Actress for her role in 12 Years a Slave and gave one of the best acceptance speeches of the night, thanking those close to her and talking about how anyone's dreams can come true. Lupita looked lovely in a custom pale blue gown by Prada which featured a very deep v-neckline, and a flowing, pleated full skirt which was covered in crystals. She said the gown was inspired by champagne bubbles and the color of blue reminded her of her home town of Nairobi, Kenya.
Lupita accessorized with some gorgeous jewels by Fred Leighton: an 18k gold and turquoise frog ring (she said the frog is her family's totem animal), a 19th Century yellow gold and diamond coiled snake bracelet, a 19th Century yellow gold, pearl and diamond ring, a 19th Century yellow gold and opal ring, a 1960's 18k gold, turquoise, and diamond ring, 18k yellow gold and rose-cut diamond spiked crescent earrings, and a very thin and elegant 18k yellow gold and diamond headband that worked perfectly with her short hair.
Lupita has had a wonderful week: the night before she celebrated her birthday at the Independent Spirit Awards where she won Best Actress and was later taken out for a birthday dinner by her 12 Years a Slave co-stars, as well as the film's producer Brad Pitt and his fiance, Angelina Jolie.
