Microsoft Announces Xbox One X Console

Microsoft has announced its Xbox One X console. The rumored console was known previously as Project Scorpio. The console is set for a November 7 release. It will offer 4K gaming with 6 Teraflops of graphical processing power and a 1 TB storage capacity. It will have a high $499 price tag.

Other specs for the Xbox One X include an 8-core Custom AMD CPU 2.3Ghz, 12GB GDDR5 of graphic memory, 326 GB/sec memory bandwidth, Bluetooth, Bual band wireless with Wi-Fi Direct, IR Blaster, Scorpio engine, hovis method digital power delivery system and advanced liquid cooling. It also has Spatial Audio, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X sound, 4K UHD Blu-ray Optical Disc Drive and a 4K DVR.

Some of the 4K games already announced for the X include Forza Motorsport 7, Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves, Super Lucky's Tale, State of Decay 2, Call of Duty: WWII, FIFA 18 and Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Xbox One X will be backward compatible with games designed for previous Xbox One consoles.

The Xbox One X is not yet available for pre-order but Amazon.com already a listing for the console. It boasts that the X has "40% of more power" than any other console. It also says, "great for 1080p screens-games run smoothly, look great, and load quickly." This E3 trailer released by Microsoft provides a look at 4K gaming with the new console.
