Line Friends Character Speakers in the Works

Line Friends has announced it is developing character speakers. The Asian brand includes a cute bear, chicken, bunny, frog and more. They recently announced plans for a U.S. Times Square store.

The Verge is reporting that the speaker concept will be similar to what we see with Google Home and Amazon Echo where a digital assistant is combined with a smart speaker. Two of the speakers for Brown the bear and Sally the chicken are pictured above. The speakers are expected to be available this winter in Japan. It is not clear if they will also be sold in the U.S. but it is a possibility with the new U.S. store.

Line Friends is also collaborating on a premium speaker collection with Bang & Olufsen. Take a look:
