Padma Eats Cheeseburger in Carl's Jr Ad

Padma Lakshmi's over-the-top commercial for Carl's Jr. is out. Top Chef judge Padma gets up close and personal with a Hardee's Western Bacon Thickburger in the ad. She eats the burger while wearing a low-cut pink dress and sitting on some concrete steps.

Padma is no stranger to cheeseburgers from Carl's Jr. and Hardee's. In her 2007 cookbook, Padma writes about eating bacon cheeseburgers after school at Carl's Jr. She says the bacon taste was enhanced by the barbecue sauce.
Brad Haley, executive vice president of marketing for Hardee's and Carl's Jr., said in a statement, "When we found out Padma was such a fan of the Carl's Jr. Western Bacon Cheeseburger, she was a natural fit to star in the television campaign for Hardee's new Western Bacon Thickburger."
Haley ads that Padma was the perfect choice because she's "beautiful, she's a culinary expert, she's beautiful, she's very smart, and she's beautiful."
Padma has likely eaten higher caloric meals on Top Chef many times. The burger ad will start airing March 30th in markets throughout the Midwest and Southeast and will be shown in select Carl's Jr. markets on the West Coast beginning March 31st.
