Peter Jackson, Martin Freeman and Liv Tyler Walk the Red Carpet at the New York Premiere of The Hobbit

At the New York premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, director Peter Jackson as well as actors Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood and Martin Freeman walked the red carpet. Patrick Stewart showed up to support his friends. Liv Tyler, who played Arwen in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, also attended. She said she couldn't wait to see Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, and to return to Middle Earth after a decade. Peter Jackson talked about the new 48 frames per second film speed that will play in select theaters. He says that movie technology hasn't really advanced since 1927 and he really wants to improve the technology and make moviegoing a more immersive experience. Take a look:
