Pope Benedict XVI Speaks Out About Connecticut School Shooting

Pope Benedict XVI spoke in St. Peter's Square today and told the crowd of tourists and pilgrims that he is praying for the families of the adults and twenty young children who were killed in a shooting spree by Adam Lanza. The Pontiff said he is "deeply saddened by Friday's senseless violence in Newtown, Connecticut." He addressed the families of the victims: "I assure the families of the victims, especially those who lost a child, of my closeness in prayer. May the God of consolation touch their hearts and ease their pain." Take a look:
