Randi Zuckerberg Upset Family Photo Goes Viral After She Posts it on Facebook

Posted on December 27, 2012

Even the Zuckerberg family has problems with the Facebook's complex privacy settings. Randi Zuckerberg, the sister of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, was upset when a family photograph went viral. Randi thought she only shared the photograph with her friends, but because of Facebook's complex sharing settings, the photograph also appeared on Callie Schweitzer's Facebook news feed, who shared it on Twitter. The photo went viral after that.

Randi argued in a tweet that her photograph being posted on Twitter is "about human decency" and not privacy settings, but it is clear that the reason her photo ultimately viraled around the Internet is because she did not truly understand just how many people on Facebook she was sharing her private photograph with. The fact that the sister of the Facebook CEO can't even comprehend Facebook's complex privacy and sharing settings is turning out to be quite the holiday embarrassment for the social networking company.
