Shailene Woodley Talks Divergent and Twilight With Teen Vogue
Posted on March 12, 2014
Shailene Woodley covers the April 2014 issue of Teen Vogue. In the interview, Shailene talks about her upcoming film, Divergent, and reveals some advice she received from Jennifer Lawrence. Shailene also says Twilight is about a toxic, unhealthy relationship.
On Seeing a Rough Cut of Divergent: "Doing an action movie is completely different from one based in reality. It's much harder to act with a green screen than with another human being. There are so many special effects in this film, so it was really amazing to see how they turned out."
On Advice She Received From Jennifer Lawrence: "I asked Jennifer Lawrence, 'Are you happy with your choice to take on The Hunger Games?' And she said she wouldn't change it for the world. She told me, 'There are some things-don't make a sex tape, don't do drugs, don't do things in public-that you wouldn't want other people judging you for. But this is the best decision you'll ever make.'"
On Twilight: "Twilight, I'm sorry, is about a very unhealthy, toxic relationship. She falls in love with this guy and the second he leaves her, her life is over and she's going to kill herself! What message are we sending to young people? That is not going to help this world evolve."
