Shark and Dyson Top J.D. Power 2014 Vacuum Satisfaction Study
Posted on March 30, 2014J.D. Power has released the results of its 2014 Vacuum Satisfaction Study. This is the third year for the study measuring upright and canister vacuums. J.D. Power tested for six factors: performance, ease of use, features, styling and appearance, price, and warranty. The study is based on responses from more than 3,700 customers who purchased an upright vacuum and/or a canister vacuum from February 2013 through February 2014.
Shark received the top position in both upright and canister vacuum. Shark scored 819 on a 1,000-point scale in upright vacuums and 799 in the canister vacuums. Shark was followed closely by Dyson, which scored 815 on upright and 795 on canister vacuums. Oreck had the third highest score in upright vacuums with 805 and was followed by Kenmore (761), Kirby (758) and Electrolux (750). Mele with third in canister vacuums with a score of 782. Overall customer satisfaction scores were slight higher for upright vacuums (769) than canister vacuums (758). Problem incidence was higher among customers with canister vacuums (5%), compared to those with upright vacuums (3%).
