Singer Clay Aiken Running for Congress in North Carolina

Clay Aiken is running for Congress in North Carolina. He is seeking the Democratic nomination. If he gets the nomination he will face Representative Renee Ellmers. Aiken posted his first campaign video on his website, clayaiken.com. In his video, Aiken talks about the difficulties his mother faced raising him by herself after leaving her abusive husband, Aiken's father. He talks about his years as a special education teacher, before his music career began. Aiken says he is not a politician, but he does a good job in this video at setting up an outsider position. He mentions his faith and talks about the importance of supporting military families. He credits George Bush with teaching him the importance of both parties working together. He also gets some good digs in at his opponent. Take a look:
