Victoria's Secret Angels Wear Football Uniforms in Super Bowl Ad

Posted on January 26, 2015

Victoria's Secret will run an ad during this year's Super Bowl game on February 1st. The ad has the Victoria's Secret Angels playing football and dressed in red and white football uniforms.

Victoria's Secret is hoping for a close game. The ad will air after the 2-minute warning in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl telecast. Many may stop watching by then if it is a blowout, but if it is close Victoria's Secret will have the maximum viewers possible for its ad.

A video was released that shows the Angels playing the game and making spectacular throws and catches. Victoria's Secret says in a release that the ad stars Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Karlie Kloss, Behati Prinsloo, Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima. We don't see Alessandra or Karlie in the teaser, but we do see Doutzen Kroes who is not listed in the release.

The ad campaign is called "Don't Drop the Ball." In this case not dropping the ball refers to not forgetting Valentine's Day. Victoria's Secret CEO Sharen Jester Turney says in a statement, "The Super Bowl is the single best opportunity for Victoria's Secret to remind a global audience that Valentine's Day is right around the corner."

The Angels' uniforms remain sparkling clean throughout the game. There are a surprising amount of passionate comments on YouTube about the video. Some are angry no lingerie is shown. There is also intense debate about which Angels are the best. Take a look:
