1600 Paper Mache Pandas on Display at Hong Kong Airport

Posted on June 10, 2014

There are 1600 paper mache pandas on display at the Hong Kong airport. The pandas are from the 1600 Paper Pandas Exhibition, which was launched by French artist Paulo Grangeon and WWF Hong Kong in 2008. The exhibition was designed to highlight the limited number of pandas remaining in the wild.

Grangeon talked about his panda exhibition with the Associated Press. He says in fifty years he doesn't want there to be just one thousands wild pandas left. He says, "I don't want to see the last one die in a zoo."
