Alibaba Group Launches 11 Main

The Alibaba Group, a China-based ecommerce company, has unveiled 11 Main, a collection of specialty shops and boutiques. The site is currently in beta mode. Alibaba says the new site was inspired by the "Main Street" shopping experience.

Mike Effle, president and general manager of 11 Main, says in a statement, "At 11 Main, we're passionate about the shops we invite and helping them grow. We're constantly introducing new shop owners who represent the diversity of Main Street and featuring their new, amazing products in a beautifully designed experience."

Forbes reports that 11 Main plans to offer hundreds of thousands of products from 1,000 to 2,000 specialty shops. The website can be found at It is currently an invite-only site and you need to request an invite in order to be able to see the website.
