Almost Alice debuted at #5 on The Billboard 200 album chart. It sold over 58,000 units in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album topped Billboard's Digital Album and Soundtrack charts, the iTunes album chart. It had Top 10 debuts in Mexico, Canada and Australia. The album is a companion to the soundtrack for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, which features the score by composer Danny Elfman.
Avril Lavigne's Alice (Underground) was the first single released from the album. Other features include "In Transit" performed by blink-182's Mark Hoppus and Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz; "Painting Flowers," a guitar driven alternative rocker from All Time Low; the funky pop track "Follow Me Down" from 3OH!3 featuring Neon Hitch; and, from one Grace to another, a rendition of Jefferson Airplane's 1967 hit "White Rabbit," performed by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.
