Aluminum Christmas Trees Back in Demand

Aluminum Christmas trees are reportedly back in demand. The Wikipedia entry notes that the trees were illuminated with a color wheel as it was a fire risk to string lights through the trees like you do with a traditional Christmas tree.
The trees popular in the 1960s are no longer being produced, however they are available through third parties and on auction websites. The AP reports that some aluminum Christmas trees are going for over $1,000 each on eBay. There is a wide range of prices for aluminum trees among eBay's current listings> for the trees, including at least one listed for over $1,000. Take a look:
