Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Get Emotional on Black Carpet for Premiere of World War Z

Angelina Jolie made her first public appearance since her double mastectomy. She walked the black carpet at the premiere of Brad's new film World War Z. Angie missed the funeral of her aunt in California, who just died of breast cancer in order to support Brad at the film, which was extremely expensive to make and has been plagued with problems. But the buzz around the film now is good -- Brad personally brought in Damon Lindelof to rewrite the ending, and that seems to have worked.

Because it was a somber day, Angie and Brad both wore all black and walked a black carpet instead of a red carpet. They each spoke about her double mastectomy and the outpouring of support she has received. Angie choked up when asked about her aunt's death and she also mentioned her mother's death from ovarian cancer. Angie said she has been very moved by the support she has gotten since she revealed her decision. She said, "I've been very happy just to see the discussion about women's health expanded and that means the world to me. After losing my mum to these issues I'm very grateful for it, and I've been very moved by the kind support from people."

Brad also choked up when talking about Angie's decision. He called her "heroic" and said they had known they were facing this issue for some time. Brad shared, "I'm just relieved that that's not going to be the thing that takes her out. The biggest fear as a father is keeping the family alive and safe and together... and she did that. I'm getting a bit teary-eyed thinking about it."
