Angelina Jolie visited the Za'atri refugee camp in Jordan, just over the Syrian border. Angelina was visiting in her capacity as a Special Envoy for the United Nations High Council on Refugees. There are hundreds of thousands of refugees who are fleeing the violence in Syria. Angelina spoke with families, observed preparations for the cold winter to come and praised the Jordanian government for its compassion in caring for so many refugees. She also asked for help for the U.N. Jordan is bearing a very heavy burden financially and relies on international humanitarian assistance for the seemingly unending waves of refugees that need shelter, clothing, food and healthcare.
