Animals Blessed in Mexico City for St. Anthony's Day

Animals were blessed in Mexico City for St. Anthony Day. People brought their pets, including birds, cats, dogs and more to be blessed by holy water by a priest. Saint Anthony is the patron saint of animals. St. Anthony's Feast Day is also celebrated in many other countries. The village of San Bartolome de los Pinares also celebrates Feast Day with a more dangerous tradition, called Luminarias, which involves people jumping with their horses over bonfires.
