Austrian Olympic Team Receives Kidnap Threats

The Austrian Olympic Committee has received a kidnap threat against two of its Olympic team members. Alpine skier Bernadette Schild and skeleton pilot Janine Flock are the subject of the threat, which came in an anonymous letter. Both competitors have refused to cancel their trip and intent to compete in the Sochi Olympic Games as planned. Security is very tight for the games, which have been threatened with violence by terrorists. Other threats against the Austrian team were found to be a hoax, but every threat must be taken seriously and investigated. The AP reports:
