Best Buy and Target have both brought back their free shipping, no minimum, offers from last year. The Best Buy free shipping offer runs through December 24, 2016. Target's offer runs through Jan. 1, 2017.

Free shipping is very attractive to online shoppers. It makes it easier for online shoppers when they see the price of a product they want and don't have to worry about factoring the shipping costs into the cost. The move gives both retailers a way to compete with rival Amazon.com.

Target says in its announcement: "Popular promotions from 2015 will return, including 10 Days of Deals, which will feature a distinct offer each day for 10 days. Target also will extend its free shipping promotion by a full week this year, waiving the shipping fee for all digital orders from Oct. 25 through Jan. 1, 2017. Cartwheel, Target’s digital savings app, is bringing back popular holiday deals, including 50 percent off one toy per day between Nov. 1 and Dec. 24, and on Dec. 4, guests will save 10 percent on Target GiftCards."

Best Buy says, "his holiday season, Best Buy again makes it easy for holiday shoppers to cross everything off their gift lists. Customers will get free shipping on everything when they shop on BestBuy.com, now through Dec. 24. And for those who can't wait for their new tech, customers can pick up their BestBuy.com orders for free at their local Best Buy stores."
