Best Buy Announces Stores Will Open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving for Black Friday
Posted on November 8, 2013Best Buy has announced stores will open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving for Black Friday sales. Last year Best Buy opened its doors at midnight on Black Friday. This will mean a major change of plans for people who plan to wait outside Best Buy stores for the deals to begin. Best Buy usually begins handing out tickets a couple hours before opening its doors. It is not yet clear if the doorbuster deals will all start at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving, or if they will be staggered with some doorbusters beginning at midnight or early in the morning on Black Friday. Best Buy says in a release that customers told them they wanted to shop on Thanksgiving evening.
The key to Best Buy's transformation is its singular focus on customer service, including giving consumers the opportunity to shop when and where they want. Last year, millions of people made it clear that they wanted to shop on Thanksgiving evening. Given this trend, the company designed this year's holiday plan with a variety of shopping options, including multiple doorbuster deals throughout the night on Thanksgiving and into the morning on Black Friday.Best Buy says stores in Maine, Massachusetts and Rhode Island will not open until Black Friday.
Because of laws in Maine, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, stores in those states will not open until Black Friday. Our five stores in Maine will open at 12:01 a.m. on Nov. 29. Our 27 stores in Massachusetts and our Rhode Island store will open at 1 a.m. on Nov. 29. Our three Best Buy stores in Puerto Rico will also open at 12:01 a.m. on Nov. 29.Best Buy has not yet revealed its Black Friday ad circular.
