Beyonce, Condoleeza Rice and Jane Lynch Lead Move to Ban Bossy

Beyonce, Jennifer Garner, Diane von Furstenberg, Sheryl Sandberg and Jane Lynch are leading a move to ban the word bossy. The idea behind the word "bossy" is that it discourages girls from wanting to lead. The banbossy.com website says, "When a little boy asserts himself, he's called a 'leader.' Yet when a little girl does the same, she risks being branded 'bossy.'" It's true that the word bossy gets hurled at women quite a bit when they take a leadership role, whereas we have never once heard anyone call a man bossy. He's called decisive or a go-getter.
