Beyonce's surprise album release is a big success. Billboard reports that her new self-titled album is headed for No. 1. She has garnered 430,000 album sales in just over a day. Beyonce released the album late Thursday with seventeen 30-second music videos. The album was somehow kept secret for months from fans and the press as Beyonce and her team worked on the album and the videos. The album costs $15.99 on iTunes and contains 14 songs. It is expected to be available from other retailers in CD form later this month, but Billboard says an exact date for the CD release has not been set. Having the exclusive is a big win for iTunes. The album could sell a million digital copies before other retailers even have a chance to sell it.
