Lifetime has made an original movie that dramatizes the life of J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series. Poppy Montgomery plays J.K. Rowling in the film, Magic Beyond Words: The J.K. Rowling Story. The movie follows J.K. Rowling's struggles to become a writer and deals with naysayers and financial difficulties.

Lifetime says its film "dramatizes the British author's struggle to bring the beloved wizard fantasy of Harry Potter to life."
