Brutal Cold in Midwest From Polar Vortex

A polar vortex is spreading brutally cold temperatures in the Midwest states. The temperatures are especially dangerous in Minnesota and North Dakota where wind chills have reached 60 below zero. Schools have been closed in Chicago because of wind chills forecasts of around fifty below.

CNN reports that the National Weather Center is predicting much of the nation to experience the coldest temperatures in 20 years. The cold weather is also spilling south and record lows could be set in Tennessee and Alabama. There is some good news in that the temperatures should moderate after a couple days of the terribly cold weather.
