Car Wreck Injures Over 30 Fans at Daytona

Daytona International Speedway is surrounded by a fence that is meant to protect fans in the stands from crashing vehicles. The fence failed today when a car went flying into the fence. Parts of the vehicle went flying into the stands and at least 33 fans were injured by the flying metal. Two people are reportedly in critical condition, including a child.

Deadspin posted a video that shows people reacting after the crash and calling for medics. The wreck happened on the very last lap of the race. It was rookie driver Kyle Larson's car that flew into the fence. Larson surprisingly walked away from the crash even though his car was sheared in half.

The NASCAR officials insisted they will be ready to race again tomorrow. However, it is clear they won't be able to have a stronger fence in place to better protect the fans by then. Take a look:
