CDC Report Finds 1 in 7 Home Kitchens Would Fail a Restaurant Health Inspection

A new report from the CDC says 1 in 7 home kitchens would fail a restaurant health inspection. Dr. Jennifer Ashton shared some tips for keeping your kitchen clean on the Early Show. Sponges are one of the biggest germ magnets. Dr. Ashton suggests putting sponges in the microwave for a couple minutes to kill the bacteria that is probably living on them. Bacteria also reside on cutting boards. Plastic cutting boards are better than wood. Take a look:
