Charm City Cakes Inaugural Cake

The Ace of Cakes bakery, Charm City Cakes, was asked to make the official cake for the Commander in Chief's Ball at the 2013 Inauguration. Mary Alice Yeskey, director of marketing for the bakery, says it is the biggest honor they have ever had. She says the cake will be 9 tiers and stand three to four feet tall. It will weigh forty to fifty pounds. Flavors include red velvet, lemon poppy seed, pumpkin chocolate chip and pineapple coconut. Mary says there is no backup cake, but the delivery people have a "medic kit" to repair any damage the cake may sustain on its journey. Take a look:
