Claire Danes Talks Love for New York City in ASOS Magazine
Posted on April 11, 2012
Claire Danes covers the latest issue of ASOS magazine. Claire talked to ASOS about her love of New York and her country home. She also talked about getting ready for the 2012 Golden Globes and how she is seduced by sales.
On New York City: "I grew up in New York, so it's home in the most absolute sense for me. I love how diverse it is, and I love the pace. It's always churning and changing and I'm always hustling to keep up with it. And the country house is beautiful - there is nobody around except cows, so no judgments. I can look like absolute hell, and not worry about it. It's an old farmhouse, made in the late 1700s, and I was terrified when we moved in that it would be haunted. It's not. Well, if it is, it's haunted by very happy people."
On Shopping: "I'm just very seduced by a sale. In New York buying clothes is fun, because it really is boutiquey. I like Legacy and Opening Ceremony, and I love Prada. I have a lot of J Brand and Citizens of Humanity jeans. It's so funny with jeans now, because if they don't feel like a pair of sweatpants, I don't have patience for them anymore! I think I'm becoming increasingly lazy."
On Getting Ready for the Golden Globes: "I was quite worried about [what to wear]. I didn't have time to diet after the holidays, or do some juice cleanse bullshit diet, so I had got fatter and all my clothes were really tight. But I was lucky, because the first dress I tried on really worked."
Claire went with a J. Mendel gown for the 2012 Golden Globes. Here is a behind-the-scenes video of Claire's ASOS cover shoot. Take a look:
