Posted on February 15, 2009

Dell has launched a 7-ounce pocket-sized portable printer called the Wasabi. The Wasabi prints 2"x3" inch photos using inkless Zink technology. The printer can connect wirelessly to your camera phone or computer using Bluetooth technology. You can also print via PictBridge USB connection from your digital camera.

The Wasabi printer will retail for $149. Gadgetwise says Dell sells photo paper for the Wasabi in two quantities: "A 24-sheet pack for $12 and a 48-sheet pack for $20. That translates to 50 cents and 41 cents per print, respectively."

Dell's pocket-sized printer competitor is Polaroid's PoGo, which also uses Zink technology and prints 2"x3" inch photos.
