Disney Planes Wildfire Prevention PSA

Characters from Disney's Planes animated films appear in new PSAs for wildfire prevention. The ads feature scenes from the upcoming Disneytoon Studios' film, Planes: Fire & Rescue. They include the characters Dusty, Dipper and Blade Ranger. Disney joined the Ad Council, the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters (NASF) for the campaign.

The U.S. Forest Service says the most common source of human-caused wildfires are "campfires left unattended, debris burning on windy days, careless discarding of smoking materials and BBQ coals, and operating equipment without spark arrestors."

Forest Service Chief Tom Tidwell says in a statement, "We are excited to have characters of Planes: Fire & Rescue serve as ambassadors of Smokey's wildfire prevention message. In teaching people campfire safety tips, these PSAs will further the message of wildfire prevention to a broad audience."

The PSAs direct viewers to the SmokeyBear.com website, which has more safety tips about wildfire prevention.
