Dr. Gupta Reports on Link Between Cell Phones and Brain Cancer

Neurosurgeon Dr. Sanjay Gupta did a report for CNN on cell phones and cancer. Dr. Kieth Black, Chairman of Neurology, Cedas-Sinai Medical Center, told Dr. Gupta that there "is no way to say that cell phone usage is safe. I think that the public has the right to know that there could be a potential risk."

Dr. Gupta says a recent study found that people using cell phones for more than ten years had the double the rate of a type of brain tumor. Cell phone usage is relatively new, and it may take decades to get a clearer answer on the link between cell phones and brain cancer. Children have thinner skulls and so they likely receive more radiation than an adult. There have been no studies on children and cell phone safety. Dr. Gupta also notes that the cell phone manufacturers, including Apple, advise against putting the cell phone near your head or your body. Take a look:
