Drunk, Out of Control Passenger Subdued, Duct Taped to His Seat During International Flight

An unruly passenger was subdued by his fellow passengers on a flight from Iceland to New York City. The Icelandair flight was approximately six hours in duration. The passenger purchased a bottle of liquor from the duty free shop, then proceeded to drink most of it. At that point witnesses said he began choking the woman next to him, cursing and screaming that the plane was going to crash. At that point, the other passengers decided he need to be restrained. They used duct tape and zip ties (which are standard supplies on all Icelandair flights for just such a situation) and taped him to his seat. A friend of one of the passengers snapped a photo of the restrained passenger. CNN says he was taken to a hospital after landing, but has not been charged with a crime. CNN reports:
