Epic records will release a new posthumous Michael Jackson album, called Xscape. on May 13. Michael Jackson, who died at age 50 in 2009, is pictured wearing a disc-shaped partial hood on the album cover. The album features eight new tracks, which Epic says will be heard by fans for the very first time. Music mogul L.A. Reid, ceo and Chairman of Epic Records, is the executive producer of Xscape.

Reid says in a statement, "Modern music and artistry would look and sound completely different if not for the groundbreaking contributions Michael Jackson gifted to the world. Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with. We are extremely proud and honored to present this music to the world."

Billboard.com reports that Timbaland is the lead producer of Xscape. The album will be available in standard and deluxe editions for pre-order through iTunes on April 1.
