First Photo of Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman Released, Costume Looks Cheap
Posted on March 18, 2011
Warner Bros TV has released the first photo of Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman. Adrienne will star in the NBC pilot which is written by David E. Kelley. The costume team clearly decided to use the new Wonder Woman costume as shown in the comics as a template. She has blue latex leggings with gold plastic emblems instead of a bustier/leotard, bare legs and red boots like Lynda Carter did. The costume looks incredibly cheap. It looks like an ad for a bargain-priced Wonder Woman Halloween costume. We cannot believe the way the costume has been engineered to highlight her obvious breast implants. It's appalling. The wig looks terrible, too. The real Wonder Woman would jump in her invisible plane and fly far, far away from this sartorial disaster.
As for Adrianne Palicki, we've heard good things about her acting chops for the role. But here she looks like she'd rather be anywhere but doing promo photos for Wonder Woman. She needs to work that Amazonian fierceness. More fierceness, please. We also need to see some more expensive fabric for the leggings, as well as a fix for that bustier.
The show also stars Cary Elwes (love him) and Elizabeth Hurley as a villain (genius casting). We'll be glued to our television sets for the premiere, that's for sure. Let's just hope the costume department gets a bigger budget.
