First Season of Bob Ross's The Joy of Painting is on YouTube

The first season of The Joy of Painting starring Bob Ross is available on YouTube. The entertaining series ran for 31 seasons on PBS from 1983 to 1994. Ross used a wet-on-wet oil painting technique. He is known for some of commentary about his paintings such as when he was adding "happy little trees" to one of his landscape paintings.

Update: It now appears there are multiple seasons of the series on YouTube, including season 1. You can find Bob Ross's YouTube channel here. In the very first episode Ross paints a forest scene with puddles following a rain. It also includes a "happy little path." Here is the pilot episode from season one:

The book pictured above is The Best of the Joy of Painting. It was Bob Ross's first book and was first published in 1995. It contains 60 of his favorite paintings which were originally created during the Joy of Painting show. The paintings are accompanied by step-by-step instructions and black-and-white instructional photos. The book is available on Amazon.com.
