Fiskars Launches Amplify Shears Collection
Posted on June 3, 2013
Fiskars first introduced its orange-handled scissors in 1967. The company has launched its new Amplify Shears collection today. Fiskars says the blades of the scissors adjust based on the thickness of the material you are cutting. The new scissors feature a floating blade tang that allows the transfer of energy to a torsion bar which adjusts the blade to its optimal angle when you are cutting. Fiskars says this helps prevent the material you are cutting from folding over while you are cutting it.
The scissors come in two styles. Fiskars says its Amplify Mixed Media Shears cut cleanly through thick materials like burlap and corkboard. The other style is the Ampliyfy RazoerEdge Fabric Shears, are designed to cut thick fabric like leather and denim. The scissors cost $24.99 for a 6-inch, $29.99 for an 8-inch and $39.99 for a $39.99. The launch this week at JoAnn stores and Fiskars.com.
