Gas Prices Start Climbing Again
Posted on June 21, 2010The first part of the summer driving season did not resulted in rising gas prices for commuters and travelers. It looks as if prices may even fall all summer long. Unfortunately, that trend has ended. The nationwide average gas price climbed $2.69 to $2.73 in the past week, according to the AAA's Fuel Gauge Report. This is still lower the $2.81 from a month ago, but more than the $2.69 price from one year ago.
The AJC reports that AAA spokeswoman Jessica Brady said, "It's very likely the price of crude oil will increase further this week as consumer demand has steadily increased in the last couple of weeks. Consumers can expect to see retail gas prices increase this week after crude oil closed $3.39 more than last week."
