Germany's Oldest Christmas Market Opens in Dresden

Thousands of people attended the 578th opening of Germany's oldest Christmas market in Dresden. The traditional market called the Weihnachtsmarkt dates back to the middle ages. The Dresden market dates back to 1434. There were marching bands, pastries, speeches and singing. Santa presided over the annual cutting of the Christmas Stollen. The Christmas market has hundreds of vendors selling all kinds of Christmas ornaments and decorations, as well as holiday treats. Take a look:
