Google's Sochi Olympics Google Doodle supports gay rights

Google has made a pro-LGBT statement against Russia's anti-gay policies with a new Google Doodle. The rainbow flag doodle features images of different sports. If you click on the rainbow doodle, you are taken to a page with a quote from the Olympic Charter which governs how the Olympics are run:

"The practice of sport is a human right. Every individual must have the possibility of practising sport, without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play."

The image is also on the homepage of Google Russia. The winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, began today with a record 3,000 athletes from all over the world competing. The opening ceremonies are tomorrow.
