Posted on May 28, 2011

The L.A. Times reports that Tommy Hilfiger has partnered with Universal Music Group to develop a rock-'n'-roll inspired collection. The collection will be sold at high-end boutiques and department stores.

The L.A. Times says Hilfiger and Universal will work with bands and artists to create the clothing. The deal could be an opportunity for Universal to make more money from its branded artists as CD sales continue to plunge.

The Universal Music Group has plenty of top bands and singers to work with. Some of Universal's artists include Lady Gaga, Eminem, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, Black Eyed Peas and Nicki Minaj.
